Employer incentives have been extended and increased

Lots of employers are already benefiting from our incentive payments for hiring an apprentice. The good news is employers still can because the government is extending incentive payments to 30th September 2021. To receive incentive payments, employers will need to sign the latest employer agreement in their apprenticeship service account.

How it works
If employers take on apprentices as new employees between 1 August 2020 and 30 September 2021, they’ll receive:

£3000 for new employees of any age who start their apprenticeship from 1 April 2021 to 30 September 2021.

The incentive payment is in addition to the £1,000 employers already receive for hiring an apprentice who is either aged 16 to 18 years old or under 25 with an education, health and care plan or who has been in the care of their local authority.

They can spend the payment on things like their apprentice’s uniform or salary and they don’t even have to pay it back.
Pass this on to the employers you work with to make sure they don’t miss out.

We’ll make the payment in 2 equal instalments for each apprentice. To find out when employers will get paid call Sarah on 0161 7940528.

Employers taking on apprentices as new employees should consider hiring an apprentice who has been made redundant. They already have relevant skills and qualify for the incentive payments.
