It’s National Apprenticeship Week!
To kick-start National Apprenticeship Week 2022 (#NAW2022) we’d like to share Holly Sweeting’s success story.
Holly Sweeting goes above and beyond at Guys & Thomas NHS Trust
Holly Sweeting started her Skills4Pharmacy pre-registration pharmacy technician apprenticeship on 27th October 2020 and is now within the last 9 months of her course. Holly has proved to be an exemplary student and an asset to her employer; consistently displaying her dedication to the course and focusing on her given tasks.
A star pupil within the classroom, Holly goes above and beyond, never faltering or falling back on her targets and always completing her work and providing detailed off-the-job journal entries. She never fails to produce well-structured and comprehensive assignments on time and to the very highest standards.
Holly has completed multiple stretch and challenge activities, actively seeking out feedback to ensure she reaches the target standards that are required knowledge for pharmacy technicians. This includes Safeguarding Level 2 Training and Calculations for Pharmacy Technicians. Skills4Pharmacy has also helped Holly develop her academic writing skills, an important part of a pharmacy technician’s tool kit and one which we aim to cultivate in all our students.
During one-to-one sessions, which included revision of practical and scientific knowledge, professional discussion practices, and progress reviews, Holly has shown herself to be an adept student, who can remain focused on multiple goals and targets with a sense of clarity which has allowed her to work towards her personal and professional goals.
All in all, Holly has applied herself admirably and embraced the challenges Skills4Pharmacy has given her so she can become a competent pharmacy technician who can register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GpHC) and rise to the further challenges of working within a hospital.
At Skills4Pharmacy we are very proud of our students and aim to nurture and develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours throughout their training. Holly is an excellent example of what can be achieved by a motivated and well tutored apprentice. Her Skills4Pharmacy training has given her the knowledge, skills and confidence to acclimate to the expectations within the profession and we are confident she will go on to have an outstanding career in pharmacy.
