Our government funded training programmes are suitable for both the existing workforce (upskilling), new recruits and we have a proven track record of producing productive, highly motivated employees who make an effective contribution to your workplace.

What You Need to Know

The National Minimum Wage for apprentices is £4.81 per hour from 1st April 2022. This minimum wage applies to all apprentices aged under 19 and apprentices aged 19 or over in the first year of their apprenticeship. It must be paid for all the time the apprentice spends working or training (that is part of the apprenticeship). After this, the apprentice must be paid the normal National Minimum Wage for their age.

Apprentices must be offered employment for at least 30 hours per week (including off-the-job training time), except in some special circumstances where the learner can’t complete the full 30 hours.

All apprentices need to undertake 20% Off-the-job training. This is defined as learning which is undertaken outside of day-to-day work duties and leads towards the achievement of the apprenticeship. This training takes place within the apprentice’s normal (contracted) working hours. The off-the-job training must be directly relevant to the apprenticeship and does not mean one day off a week. This can also be spread in a flexible way to suit employer and employee demands.
